PURPOSE:Tanned leather, as a starting material,is dipped in a specific treating solution, then subjected to wet maceration, beating and dry fibrillation to produce the titled fiber which is suitable for fabrics used in industry and clothing, because of its high purity and good properties. CONSTITUTION:At first, a treating solution is prepared by mixing (A) 10- 40pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of leather calculated as absolutely dried one, of polyethylene glycol of 200-600mol. weight, (B) 60-90pts.wt. of polyethylene glycol of 1,000-10,000mol. weight, (C) 1-5pts.wt. of polyoxypropylene glycol of 400- 1,200pts.wt. and (D) 500-2,000pts.wt. of water and tanned leather is dipped in the solution at room temperature. Then, the resultant leather is subjected to wet maceration, or beating or dry fibrillation to give the objective collagen fiber. |
