PURPOSE:To secure a compact type fluorescent lamp capable of preventing the occurrence of a leak or a crack as well as making its highly efficient mass production realizable, by installing a concave part carrying a hole in the peripheral part of a cover to be sealed to the opening part of a luminous envelope, while setting electrode parts to this concave part before sealing. CONSTITUTION:Each of concave parts 16 of the same type is installed in two spots along the peripheral part of a cover 15 and in addition, this concave part 16 is provided with a hole 17. In time of lamp production, solidified electrode parts as one body in advance with a glass piece 18 are inserted through the hole 17, then the glass piece 18 is set so as to cause it to enter the concave part 16 of the cover 15, and afterward a part of the glass piece 18 is sealed to the concave part 16 by means of a glass frit 5. In case of a suchlike lamp, as an ample amount of the glass frit 5 is filled up in the concave part 16, the occurrence of a leak is extremely as small as negligible and, what is more, also any cracks in the sealing part can be prevented throughout a span of its service life. Moreover, an assembling process of the solidified electrode parts to a luminous envelope 1 is exceptionally easy whereby automation is also attainable, thus highly efficient mass production can be brought to fruition. |
