PURPOSE:To select a form having a size adaptable to printing, by displaying the shortage of the form width on a CRT display when the width of the form set to a printer is shorter than a length required for printing of one line. CONSTITUTION:A character number N and a character pitch P in one line are stored in registers 13 and 14 respectively by a storage means 12. NXP, M-B, and M>B are operated by a multiplier 15, a subtractor 19, and a comparator 18. (M is the product, and B is the width of the form.) A comparison result C' is outputted to a control part 11, and an output S of the substractor 19 is outputted to an AND gate 23. If the comparison result C' indicates M>B, the value of C' is judged to be 0, and a message from a message storage part 21 and the output S are synthesized in a synthesizer 24 to display information indicating the shortage of width Smm. on a CRT 25. If the operation processing and comparison result indicates M<=B, the value of C' is judged to be 1, and a normal print processing is performed. |
