PURPOSE:To enable a selective heating to be performed by a method wherein when only one piece of bread and a small amount of cooking material are to be heated, a local heating corresponding to the amount is performed and in turn when two pieces of breads or large amount of cooking material are simultaneously heated, a uniform heating over entire cooking material can be performed. CONSTITUTION:An upper heater 4 and a lower heater 5 have terminals 7 and 8 at positions where a cooking casing 6 is substantially divided into two sections. The upper heater 4 and the lower heater 5 are connected in parallel and one end is connected to a power supply 11 through a time switch 9. The upper heater 4 and the lower heater 5 are connected by intermediate terminals 8 and 7 arranged substantially at a central part thereof. The connected part and the other end of the upper heater 4 and the lower heater 5 are selectively connected to the power supply 11 through a change-over switch 10. In case that two pieces of bread are simultaneously toasted, the change-over switch 10 is operated to cause the opposite pole connected to the time switch 9 for the upper heater 4 and the lower heater 5 to be connected to the power supply 11. Then, when the time switch 9 is turned off, the cooking casing 12 is entirely heated. In case that one piece of bread is toasted, the change-over switch 10 is operated to cause the intermediate terminals 7 and 8 for the upper heater 4 and the lower heater 5 to be connected to the power supply 11, and in turn when the time switch 9 is turned off, only a half part of the cooking casing 12 is locally heated. |
