Sealing device making it possible to avoid any rising of bad smells or air turbulence tending to move up from the discharge pipe into which the bowl empties out. It consists of a sleeve 1 made of flexible anti-rot and waterproof material, open at its two ends, one of them being fitted to the external or internal wall of the outlet piping 2 of the bowl and being held on the latter by means of an elastic clamping ring 4, the length of the sleeve being such that the other end is inserted over a certain distance inside the discharge pipe 5, which sleeve is closed off, after the water-matter mixture has passed, by its walls moving towards each other, either under the effect of the reduced pressure and the influence of the surface tension of the material forming the sleeve, or in addition by the action of flexible and/or elastic means built into the structure of the said sleeve which tend to initiate or carry out fully the process of the said walls moving towards each other. The presence of water droplets on the water-repellent walls maintains a good adherence between the walls. <IMAGE>
