A method of fabricating membrane walls from highly alloyed Cr-Ni materials in finned-tube - finned-tube construction as heat exchanger elements or as boiler heating surfaces, particularly for the high-temperature range, wherein welding is carried at the joint which is liable to crack when hot, successively by full penetration double sided welding, in one or more layers, by the submerged-arc process, with a similar or higher alloyed filler metal in the square butt joint with an excess supply of filler metal in relation to a reduced welding speed and a welding flux of high basicity. |
