<p>PURPOSE:To increase considerably an overall draft and to decrease the number of stands in an unequal speed continuous rolling mill which rolls a material to be rolled at >=2 points with one roll by providing a roll which energizes rotating tension on the roll material between the two rolling points. CONSTITUTION:A material to be rolled is rolled by rolls 1, 2 in a multi-stage rolling mill of which the peripheral speeds have the relation v1<v2<v3<v4. The tension on the outlet side is increased by the rotation energy of a bridle roll 7 and the material having the decreased tension on the inlet side enters rolls 3, 4. The material emerging from the rolls 3, 4 passes the rolls 3, 4 under the rotation energy of a roll 8 and goes to the outside of the mill. The energizing tension is balanced by calculating 20 a set value 21, a load cell value 12 and the torque 19 of a motor 15 and controlling the motors 15, 16 with a control device 25. A considerable rolling reduction is accomplished by one unit of rolling mill in the above-mentioned mechanism and therefore the number of rolling mills is decreased and the method is economical.</p> |
