A separating piston (14) designed as a stepped piston is arranged in a tightly sliding manner in the housing (10) of the piston accumulator. It separates a gas space (22) from a liquid space (23). For sealing purposes there is not only the separating piston itself but also a rolling diaphragm (26) which is fastened on the one hand to the housing and on the other hand to the separating piston. A supporting ring (37) located in an annular space situated outside the separating piston bears on the turned-back part (39) of the rolling diaphragm. Consequently there is no direct connection from the gas side to the rolling diaphragm so that no gas can diffuse through the rolling diaphragm into the liquid. The endurance of the piston accumulator and the life of the rolling diaphragm are thus increased. <IMAGE>
