<p>1531619 Stabilizers for polymers; phenolic esters of alkane polyols DART INDUSTRIES Inc 22 Dec 1976 [2 Jan 1976] 53566/76 Heading C3K A stabilizer for C 2-8 olefin polymer compositions used in coating cupriferous metals consists of (1) a phenol which is a mono- or poly-ester of an alkane polyol, and wherein at least one ester group comprises the moiety where R 1 , R 2 are C 1-5 alkyl and x=1-6, and (2) calcium stearate (#100 p.p.m., based on the polymer weight). In the examples an ethylene-propylene copolymer is stabilized using (A) the pentaerythritol tetraester of 3-(3,5-di-t-butyl, 4- hydroxyphenyl) propionic acid, plus (C) calcium stearate. Comparative examples employ (B), N - N<SP>1</SP> - bis - # - (3,5 - di - t - butyl, 4 - hydroxyphenyl) propionyl hydrazine, either alone or in admixture with components (A) and (C).</p> |
