PURPOSE:To obtain a hot bender for a pipe which provides powerful thrust and bending moment to an existing hot bender for a pipe and increases its capacity by adding a relatively simple device thereto. CONSTITUTION:The operation of driving the 1st propulsion device 13 and the 2nd propulsion device 14, acting a thrust P1 on a pipe 1 by the device 13 and a thrust P2 by the tensile force of the device 14, heating locally the pipe 1 in an annular shape by a heater 3 while propelling the pipe 1, and cooling the pipe right after the heating is continuously performed to apply bending moment on the pipe 1 thereby bending the pipe. The thrust that propels the pipe 1 is applied thereon by the two devices 13, 14, and the device 14 acts an arm 12 so as to pull the same in the direction of the rotating axis of bending arms 7, 8 and therefore the thrust and bending moment are increased and the capacity thereof is considerably increased. |
