<p>A rigid gripper rod (2) (Figure 1) of a shuttleless loom has at its rear end a guide member in the form of a piston (3) and valves (5) are arranged in the piston head so that a directed air stream can be produced inside the tube (1) during the forward the return movement of the gripper rod.
