PURPOSE:To prevent engine vibration, etc., from being transmitted to a car body by setting off vibration transmitted through a vibration transmission passage while providing vibratory displacement to an electro-strain element. CONSTITUTION:A vibration absorbing device 100 is equipped with a rubber like elastic member 12 and a laminated body of plural sheets of plate-shaped electro- strain element 3, the electro-strain element 3 is polarized in its plate thickness direction and strained in the direction where the plate thickness is increased in response to the voltage of a DC current applied between plate surfaces. Further, voltage having the phase difference by 180 deg. against the phase of the forced vibration of an internal combustion engine, etc., is applied to said electro-strain element 3, and said forced vibration is set off by vibratory displacement due to said applied voltage. Moreover, any vibration not absorbed by the electro-strain element 3 is attenuated by the internal friction of the rubber like elastic member 12. |
