Apparatus for shaping a cylindrical tyre cover before application of breaker and tread includes pivoted arms 9 located exteriorly of a shaping diaphragm 5 and provided with bead supporting end portions 10 movable radially outwardly to centre the beads and to allow rotation thereof about the bead core axes during shaping. The portions 10 may include friction rollers (32) (Figs. 11, 12, not shown). Pivoted arms 33 with rollers 35 may be provided within the diaphragm for initial support and centring of the diaphragm 5, and to assist in supporting the tyre sidewalls and in causing rotation of the beads about their core axes. |
