PURPOSE:To facilitate an intersection-directional connection and to prevent an axis shift and an angle difference between a couple of optical fibers, by inserting the optical fibers into connection holes of a connector body and connecting them together. CONSTITUTION:Plug parts 11 provided atop of the couple of optical fibers 2 and 3 are inserted into the connection holes 4 and 5 of the connector body 1 and connected together at right angles. when light is propagated from one optical fiber 2 in this state, the light from the tip is changed in diretion at right angles by a direction changing means 8 to enter and propagate in the other optical fiber 3. The connector body 1 is made of synthetic resin in an L shape, and has wedgelike lock parts (b) and (b) at both end parts and step parts 7 and 7 internally. Thus, the light propagates to the optical fiber 2 and 3 held by metallic extraction stoppers 10 and 10 without any axis shift and angle difference, and the connection loss is reduced to realize the light propagation to the right-angled direction. |
