PURPOSE:To control an injection rate over a wide range of coverage according to driving conditions as well as to aim at improvements in fuel consumption, exhaust emission control, noise reduction and drivability, by installing a nozzle lift quantity controller together with an injection pressure controller and an injection quantity controller, while controlling these controllers with an electronic control device in a way of interlocking one after another. CONSTITUTION:Amid a repetition of injection strokes, when control hydraulic pressure to be fed to the upper end of a cap 604 is raised up, a valve ring 603 goes down and a lift is checked at a position where a control surface 602a blocks up a control hole 603a, so that a maximum lift quantity comes small but injection pressure grows large the other way due to its throttle effect. Likewise, when the control pressure is reduced, a maximum effective nozzle area comes large. That is to say, on the basis of various engine parameters, a hydraulic pressure controller 5 is adjusted by an electronic control device 7 together with an injection pressure controller 2 and an injection quantity controller 3 whereby a fuel injection rate can be controlled extensively and accurately according to driving conditions. |
