The liquid formulation of an anionic dye of the disazo series contains 5 to 40 per cent by weight of the dye of the formula <IMAGE> where Me is hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium, dissolved in 55 to 90 per cent by weight of water, optionally 5 to 20 per cent by weight of an alkylene glycol, glycol ether, glycol ester or a mixture thereof, and sufficient potassium hydroxide and/or alkanolamine, or alkylamine and, when Me is potassium, also sodium hydroxide and/or lithium hydroxide to adjust the solution to a pH of more than 9, with or without further additions. They are suitable for dyeing paper.
