Pipes are provided on both sides of a position to be coated, with a supporting surface (4) at the same height above the pipe wall as the desired coating thickness. Reinforcing equipment is then mounted between this surface and the outside of the pipe and clear of the latter, overlapping cladding material (2) beyond the position to be coated. A flexible water-permeable cloth (7) is placed around the reinforcing equipment, extending over the supporting surfaces and secured to them clear of the inner pipe and the reinforcing equipment. The cloth longitudinal edges are joined together to form a sleeve. A layer of stiff but flexible material is placed around the sleeve, containing apertures (9), and also joined together along their longitudinal edges to form a relatively rigid pipe. Concrete is then pumped under pressure between this layer and the cloth. |
