A method in which conduit subnetworks are formed and at least one flow property is recorded and evaluated at fixed inspection points for the conduit subnetwork at specified times over a (first) measuring period which is always the same, at least one further measuring period being chosen in addition to the first measuring period on the same day and the measured values obtained being compared both with one another and with measured values from other areas.
