The invention relates to a jacking-up device having two blocks which are arranged one above the other and between which a wedge is arranged. The outer faces of the two blocks run parallel to one another, whereas preferably both inner faces of the blocks are inclined relative to the outer faces. The wedge has converging faces which are in sliding contact with the adjoining inner faces of the blocks. Lateral flanges on the blocks maintain a flush alignment of the wedge and the blocks in the movement direction of the wedge. A clamping bolt with a head engages in an opening of the wedge starting from the thin end of the wedge thereinto, and cooperates with an internal thread on the wedge or with a nut. A washer between the head of the clamping bolt and one end face of each of the blocks ensures the alignment between the blocks in the direction of the movement of the wedge.
