<p>PURPOSE:To allow a driver to communicate with his hands kept on a steering wheel by providing microphones and a key switch on the steering wheel equipped with an optical transmission means. CONSTITUTION:Microphones MC1, MC2 and a key switch 90 are provided on a steering wheel fed with a power supply through a slip ring SA1, and they are connected to a car control unit through light emitting diodes LE1-6 and photodiodes PD1-6 to transmit signals. The car control unit has a speaker SP, mobile transmitter/receiver TRX, and a telephone TEL, which constitute a car telephone. Microphones and a key switch are provided on the steering wheel, thereby a driver can communicate with his hands kept on the steering wheel while driving.</p> |
