PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the width of line in a line drawing without directly moving a device itself, by binary coding an image signal from a one dimensional image sensor, and measuring the length of the image signal at the part of the line drawing. CONSTITUTION:The reflected light of a copy paper 5A reaches a CCD one dimensional image sensor 16. A long, slender region, which is located on the extended parts of two width direction indicating lines 12 and put between these lines, is expanded projected on the sensor 16 by the function of a lens 17. An image signal 19 from the sensor 16 is amplified, coded 23 into binary values, and supplied to a counter circuit 25. The circuit 25 obtains an AND value of a read clock signal 26 from an image sensor driving circuit 15 and a binary coded image signal 24. The resultant signal is counted by a built in counter. The counted value is imparted to a display circuit 29, converted into a line width, and displayed by liquid crystal display. |
