PURPOSE:To provide possibility of economical running as well as constant speed running by furnishing an actuator to restrict the max. stroke of control rack of a fuel injection pump and by controlling supply of the working fluid to this actuator by means of an electronic controller. CONSTITUTION:During economical operation, a solenoid operated valve 16 is opened by a micro-computer 19 to exhaust the air from an actuator 13. When a diaphragm 25 is raised by a return spring 26, a stop lever 29 is revolved to the position indicated by solid line in the attached illustration with the aid of a rod 27. Thus the leftwise stroke of moving control rack 8 is restricted. Accordingly, turn of the lever 34 exceeding a certain amount is absorbed by relative movemet of a sleeve 33 and rod 32 caused by compression of a spring 37 even though the floating lever 34 of governor 9 revolves greatly in the direction of fuel increase, and thus the engine will run in economical operation. During normal operation, a solenoid operated valve 15 is opened to turn the lever 29 to the position indicated by the dot-and-dash line in the attached illustration with the aid of the actuator 13. |
