PURPOSE:To enable displaying of a bright picture at a wide angle of view in an element which generates bubbles in a liquid layer and displays the same by incorporating fluorescent material in said liquid layer or a layer independent from said liquid layer. CONSTITUTION:Display contraste is improved by dissolving beforehand a fluorescent dye in a colored liquid or opaque liquid layer 1 in a device which obtains the display brighter than the other liquid layer part by providing, for example, transparent heating resistance elements as bubble generating elements 4 in said layer 1 on a transparent substrate 3, heating the elements 4a, 4b by flowing electric current thereto from a driving circuit 6a for the bubble generating elements with the signal fed to a selection circuit 6b from a control circuit 6c, generating bubbles 5a, 5b by evaporating the liquid on the elements 4a, 4b, and transmitting the light 7a, 7b from a light source therethrough thus the diplay contrast is improved. Or the substrate 3 is made into two layers and a layer 26 contg. a fluorescent dye is provided between both layers. The sharp picture is thus obtd. at a wider angle of view. |
