PURPOSE:To obtain secure carry-in or carry-out of an article, an elevator for transporting a box-shaped article by holding the article by means of an endless chain and a supporter in such a state that the article leans against a rear side guide rail, making the chain travel laterally at an article take-out position, and pushing the article by using a pushing device. CONSTITUTION:When an article 21 is inserted in between endless chains 12, a supporter 20 scoops the article 21 up so that the article 21 is leaned against a guide rail 25. In this state, the article 21 is hoisted by the endless chains 12. Since the chains 12 travel laterally at a specified position, the article 21, also travels toward the right in order to abut a pushing element 31 of a pushing unit 29. As a result, the supporter 20 is put in such a state as being arranged at the bottom of the article 21 so that the article 21 is held in stable manner. In this state, the pushing device 29 operates in a linked manner to push the object 21 over a carry-out conveyor 35. With this constitution, an object can be transported smoothly and securely. |
