TOBACCO EXPANDING PROCESS

This tobacco expanding process has the following steps. Sliced tobacco leaves were placed in an air-tight room and all air was eliminated from the room. Liquefied CO2 gas was injected at high pressure and maintained for 5-30 min. After the CO2 gas was converted into dry ice by reducing the pressure, the tobacco leaves were pasteurized at 80-300≦̸C for a moment. This process gave a 70-98% expanding rate.
