<p>The box-closing machine has two vertical conveyor belts spaced horizontally apart for an adjustable distance and coupled together. These are lockable to the frame, gripping the box as they deliver to a mechanism folding the front, rear and side flaps and mounted on a transverse bridge. The latter is adjustable for height by a mechanism detecting a particular vertical dimension of the box. The mechanism (23,24) determines the height of the topmost edge (30) of the side flaps (29) of the incoming box, which extend upwards roughly vertically. Correction devices (21,22,25,26,27) are coupled to the mechanism (8-12) adjusting the gap between the belts (1,2) to suit the box width and set the bridge (15) at a height to suit that of the box walls.</p> |
