Arrangement for fixing columns to the cross beams of a forging press, the press frame of which consists of an upper cross beam, a lower cross beam and prestressed tension and compression members connecting the latter. Instead of compression members let into the cross beams half-way up the latter and supported in a stepped bore in the cross beams, bushes offset on the inside and on the outside are provided which are inserted into through bores in the cross beams. With their outer shoulder, they are supported on the inner sides of the cross beams. The compression members are supported against the inner shoulder of the bushes. As a variant, a bush offset on the inside and on the outside is provided, the bore of which is eccentric to the lateral surface inserted into the cross beams. In this arrangement, the bush can be locked against rotation relative to the cross beams.
