PURPOSE:To obtain the friction plate of sintered metal having the layer of a sintered metallic friction material on one surface of a metal plate and the layer of a fireproof heat-insulating material on the other surface, by laminating the sintered metallic friction material and the fireproof heat-insulating material onto the both surfaces of the metal plate, and then treating the laminate at a temp. above a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:A sintered metallic friction material comprising Cu or its alloy, for instance, is laminated onto one surface of a metal plate, while a fireproof heat-insulating material based on silica, alumina, glass or the like, for instance, is laminated onto the other surface. By heating the laminate above 500 deg.C (esp. 750-1,000 deg.C), the layers of the sintered metallic friction material and the fireproof heat-insulating material are concurrently bonded to the metal plate. |
