PURPOSE:To improve heat radiation of a battery and present a long life alkline storage battery, by forming the battery to construction such that gaps for fluid able to flow through are provided between each single unit cell consisting of metallic material of monoblock type and a battery element housing a plate group in a bag consisting of synthetic resin film or sheet is inserted into each single cell. CONSTITUTION:Unit cells 1, 1', 1'' consists of metallic material, for instance, pure metal of iron, nickel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, etc. or alloy and gaps 3 for fluid to flow in through are provided between the single cells 1, 1', 1''. A generating element is formed such that a plate group 5 fixed to a cap 6 consisting of alkali resistant synthetic resin is housed in a bag 10 consisting of alkali resistant synthetic resin. This generating element is inserted into each cell, if an electrolyte is filled, an alkaline storage battery of monoblock type can be obtained. A battery of this constitution causes a very low temperature rise in its discharge and provided with a long life. |
