<p>This is an addn. to 77,10719, which described a smoke detector using an electronic velocimeter circuit to trigger an alarm. In this addn., the detector is assembled using interchangeable modules consisting of polymer mouldings (a-d). A holder (a) clips onto a mounting plate (b) and carries an outer cap (c) plus a centering hood (d). The metal casing of a detector cell (e) is attached to hood (d) by a screw. In cell (e) is a reference chamber contg. an atmos. ionised by a radioisotope, and also an analysis chamber with a grid inlet for the outer air being monitored by the cell (e). Improvements to the main patent, esp. to reduce the mfg. cost of the detector.</p> |
