<p>PURPOSE:To operate an apparatus for heating water in such a way that when hot water is taken out, water is heated in tap-controled manner while when hot water is not taken out it is operated as a hot water storing type to heat water by convection, by providing an opening and closing apparatus at the upper part of an outer cylinder that cooperates with the outer circumference of a cylindrical heating body having a water passage therein of define a heating passage, which opening and closing apparatus can respond to the flow in the outer cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The inside of the cylindrical heating body 1 comprising a heat generating body 4 sandwiched between ceramic backings A2, A3 acts as an inflow passage, the heating passage 7 is formed around the outer circumference of the cylindrical heating body 1, and the opening and closing apparatus 9 is provided that comprises a valve seat 13 having an opening 11 that is positioned at the center of the upper part of the outer cylinder 6 having a communication port 8 in the lower part and a valve body 15 having openings 14 out of alignment with the opening 11, the opening and closing apparatus 9 being placed in a hot water storing tank 25. When cold water is supplied from an inflow port 5, a water flow switch is closed to increase the amount of heating, and the water flow causes the valve body 15 to close the opening 11, so that the water flows down the heating passage 7 and flows out the communication port 8 thereby the cold water is instantaneously heated. When the hot water service is stopped, the valve 15 is allowed to open, and the convection of water is allowed so that the apparatus acts as a hot water storing type.</p> |
