PURPOSE:To obtain a printing apparatus enabling the replacement of a printing paper sheet by the one in a different size without regarding a top-of-form, by a method wherein the top-of-form hole lader in a printing paper sheet is detected and a paper-feeding stop signal is delivered to a paper-feeding mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A top-of-form hole 16 is provided in a printing paper sheet 10b, and is detected by detecting mechanism 3b of a printing apparatus. A top-of- form detection signal 8 is supplied to a control mechanism 1 to make it deliver a paper-feeding stop signal 6b to a paper-feeding mechanism 2. Even when the printing paper sheet is replaced by the one having a different size, the apparatus is free from troubles such as the replacement of a format tape, and thus false printing due to false operations accompanying the replacement can be prevented. |
