The cover (50) which covers the cutting member (22), such as a saw, comprises, in addition to the conventional fixed sector (52), a movable sector (54) capable of pivoting about a hub (58) to which the fixed sector is fastened, and a connecting rod (62) connected, close to the hub, to the movable sector. The fact that the connecting rod is connected, moreover, to a fixed point which is further away from the component (18) to be cut than is the tilt spindle (34) of the cutting member, has the effect that, when the cutting member is pivoted towards the component to be cut, the movable sector progressively frees the latter member at the bottom, being pivoted about the hub. The connecting rod (62) is preferably extensible, so as not to constitute and end-of-travel stop. <IMAGE>
