NEW MATERIAL:The antibiotic substance, mycinamicin VI (salt) having the following physical and chemical properties: (1) Color, white; (2) molecular formula, C35H57NO11; (3) molecular weight, 667; (4) melting point, 198-200 deg.C; (5) specific rotation, alpha D=+13.5 deg. (c=0.5%, methanol); (6) reactions, positive to decoloration, of KMnO4 aqueous solution, and negative to ninhydrin reaction, Sakaguchi's reaction and ferric chloride reaction; (7) basic; (8) soluble in acidic water, methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, and benzene, hardly soluble in basic water, and insoluble in hexane. USE:Remedy for infectious diseases of respiratory organs caused by Gram-positive bacteria, e.g. staphylococci, antibiotic substance for adding to a feed, and antibiotic substance for the remedy of animal diseases. PROCESS:Micromonspora sp.A11725 (FERM-P No.4485) is cultured for 4-5 days at 26-30 deg.C preferably under aerobic condition and neutral pH range. |
