Filter medium in the form of a stable porous body consisting of grains of spherical shape, bonded together by another phase or by sintering. Preferably, hollow-spherical grains of corundum are processed to give filter media in plate form. The filter media are used for the filtration of molten metals, preferably aluminium. |
