Shuttleless double weaving machines are equipped with double grippers (2) and with a slay (10) carrying a reed (13) allowing the double shedding (3, 4) and which is mounted in an oscillating manner in the machine frame and is driveable. To arrive at an even simpler design which also permits especially large weaving widths and, at the same time, to achieve even higher machine speeds, the slay (10) is guided parallel to itself. For this, it is advantageously supported by means of parallelogram links (14) engaging on it. <IMAGE>
