PURPOSE:To improve the specific fuel consumption as well as starting characteristics and exhaust gas characteristics, by accelerating atomization of the fuel through an intake high-speed air stream fed out of a pump by pressure. CONSTITUTION:Intake air fed out of a pump 20 by pressure is strongly spouted out of a nozzle 15 together with fuel by way of a pump discharge passage 19 and a fuel efflux passage 18. The pressure acting on a contact part 11 where the fuel from a fuel jet 10 makes contact with the intake air is equal to that in the fuel efflux passage 18 while this pressure is also led to a lever chamber 8 and a float device 17 so that a difference in the pressure between the inlet part of the fuel jet 10 and the contact part 11 is kept constant at all times. Likewise, since the effective sectional area of the fuel jet 10 is made up so as to vary according to the quantity of intake air flowing into an intake passage 1 in a carburetor, a proper mixture ratio required by the engine can be secured. |
