The toy building set consists of building blocks with holes and pins which fit in the latter. In order to obtain a simple system of toy components to be connected to each other, capable of being elaborated with increasing skill, the holes are widened in the axially outer region by means of a countersink and the pins have a central collar which fits into the countersink and is twice as high as a countersink. The collar provides the pin with retention in the hole. In order to create firmer connections, the pins may be provided at one or both ends with coaxial threaded parts, so that the pins can be fixedly connected to each other and retain building blocks clamped between the collars. As an addition, half-pins formed by a central transverse division and building blocks with half-pins attached thereto are provided.
