PURPOSE:To prevent the inconvenience of engine stop and frequent intermission of a clutch at the time to use engine brake by operating an actuator and disengaging the clutch when a suction negative pressure is lowered below a set lower limit value. CONSTITUTION:A clutch 2 set between an output shaft 1a of an engine 1 and an input shaft 3a of a transmission gear box 3 is intermitted through a cluth operating member 4 by a diaphragm device 5, which is controlled in accordance with the suction negative pressure introduced into a negative pressure chamber 5a via a negative pressure passage 7. At this state, a control valve 11 and a holding valve 12 are mounted in the negative pressure passage 7, and controlled by a control circuit 13. In this construction, when the speed of a car is slowed down and the suction negative pressure is lowered under a set lower limit value at the time of disengagement of the clutch 2 for engine braking to descend a slope or the like, the control circuit 13 demagnetizes the control valve 11 and communicate the negative pressure passage 7 with the open air to disengage the clutch 2. |
