PURPOSE:To enable vertical taking out of both X and Y axes at a time automatically and easily, by a method wherein a wire electrode is arranged within a detecting element through a notched part, and then, vertical taking out of the wire electrode is done by making the central axis coincide with the wire electrode. CONSTITUTION:A wire positioning device 36 uses cylindrical hand mill form detecting elements 34a and 34b and the elements 34a and 34b are arranged in a Z axis direction so that the respective central axes become coincident with each other. Notched parts 35a and 35b are provided at an identical angle to an X axis. To take out the wire electrode 5 vertically, an instruction pulse is applied to servo-units 20 and 21 from a neumerical controller 22, to begin with, and an upper wire guide 6 is made to drive so that the electrode 5 becomes about vertical. The controller 22 produces instruction pulses of axes XU and YV, which are applied to servo-units 18, 20, 19 and 21 and a table 4 and the wire guide 6 are moved until detected results of locations 12, 14, 13 and 15 of the axes XU and YV become identical with results of a specific equation. |
