PURPOSE:To improve the quality of reproduced signals by making the laser light incident slant on the surface of an optical recording medium and also receiving the laser light by the photodetecting face set opposite to a photodetecting part formed on one side of a semiconductor laser part. CONSTITUTION:An optical head 30C contains a semiconductor laser part 8 having slant faces 21a and 21b at both sides of a laser output end face, and a photodetecting part 8a which is formed separately from the part 8 at a slant part 21a set at the single side of the part 8 together with its photodetecting face turned to the part 8. Both faces 21a and 21b so that the part 8 and the top part of the part 8a have no contact with the optical disk surface and than the diffracted laser light reflected by the surface of an optical disk 40 reaches the photodetecting faces 22-1-22-2 of the part 8a. Then the incident angle thetaof the laser light incident on the recording face of the disk 40 is decided in consideration of reduction of the noises induced by the optical feedback as well as prevention of the increase of diameter of the optical spot formed on the disk 40. |
