The invention relates to novel 1,3,4-thiadiazolyloxyphenylureas which possess herbicidal properties and which have good selectivity in different crops of cultivated plants. The novel phenylureas have the general formula I <IMAGE> wherein X is hydrogen, halogen or trifluoromethyl, Y is hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl which can be interrupted by oxygen or substituted by halogen or cyano; C3-C6 cycloalkyl, cyclopropylmethyl, phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by chlorine or C1-C4 alkyl; or is C1-C4 alkylthio, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 alkylsulfinyl or C1-C4 alkylsulfonyl, or a sulfamoyl group -SO2NR2R3, R1 is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl, R2 is hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl which can be interrupted by oxygen or substituted by halogen or cyano, or is C3-C6 alkenyl or C3-C6 alkynyl, or C3-C6 cycloalkyl, has the same meaning as R2 or is C1-C6 alkoxy, or R2 and R3, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, can also form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring system which can contain an additional oxygen or sulfur atom or an imino group which is unsubstituted or substituted by C1-C3 alkyl. |
