PURPOSE:To decrease pressure for a valve body and reduce driving force by a method wherein a rotating shaft is rotated by the movement of a piston pushed out by the expansion of wax, a flowing path of cooling water is switched by the rotation of the valve body fixed on the shaft. CONSTITUTION:The movement of a piston is proceeded at the time an engine is cooled, when the temperature of cooling water detected by a temperature sensing unit 8 of a thermoelement 7 exceeds the predetermined temperature, while the wax filled within the element 7 is expanded, accordingly, the piston 21 is pushed up. Thereby, the rotating shaft 17 is risen, the thermoelement 7 is rotated against the guide lever 16 due to the pin 20 being engaged to the spiral groove 17b on the periphery of the shaft 17. Consequently, the valve body 6 is rotated with the element 7 being integrated, while the cooling water path 1 from the radiater is switched to the flowing path for communicating with the cooling water path 3 through the engine. |
