NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

PURPOSE:To enhance the charge-and-discharge characteristic of the Li electrode of a lithium secondary battery by using a nonaqueous electrolyte prepared by dissolving a Li salt into a mixture solvent consisting of propylene carbonate and N,N-dimethylacetamide. CONSTITUTION:As a nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery, solution prepared by dissolving a lithium salt such as LiClO4 into the mixture solvent consisting of propylene carbonate and N,N-dimethylacetamide is used. Here, the voluminal ratio of the above dimethylacetamide to the above propylene carbonate is preferred to be 8 to 2 or below. By using the nonaqueous electrolyte with such a composition as above the charge-and-discharge characteristic of the Li electrode is remarkably enhanced.
