The invention relates to an AC motor which is regulated electronically in terms of speed and torque. Starting from the basis of the antiquated repulsion motor, the structural improvement and accessories for electronic regulation of such a motor are specified. This results in the advantages which arise during operation with metered voltage, even with respect to other systems, and measures are stated to provide the antiquated repulsion motor, in conjunction with semiconductors for the variable-speed drive, with an energy balance which is better than the prior art.
