A protective envelope is intended for ducting and holding lead cores, in particular between terminal boxes in or on mobile transportation units of power supply trains in mining. In order that this protective envelope can be used in a versatile manner and, primarily, allows enveloping of lead cores which are laid between two terminal boxes which are mounted on frame parts which move with respect to one another, the protective envelope is constructed as a flexible protective sleeve (1) having at least one reinforcing insert (3), the ends of the protective sleeve (1) being provided with flanges (5).
