PURPOSE:To facilitate installation of a water heater and promote natural convection, by containing a heat-collecting system and a hot water storing system in a cylindrical body having a triangular cross-section and having a slanted surface which functions as a heat-receiving surface. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical body 1 having a rounded triangular cross-section is formed from a light-transmitting plastic, and the slanted surface of the body 1 is set at an angle of inclination alpha=30-50 deg. against the horizontal to be used as the light-receiving surface 2. An upper part of the interior space of the body 1 is used as an air layer 3, the lower part of the space is used as a hot water storing layer 4, a triangular spiral heat-collecting pipe 5 is placed in the layers 3, 4, air-extracting holes 6, 6' are provided in an upper part of each coil element of the pipe 5, and passage holes 8, 8' for a heat-transmitting medium (water) 7 are provided in a lower part of the coil element. In the figure, numeral 10 denotes a water-pouring valve, numeral 11 denotes an outflow valve, and numeral 12 denotes a heat-insulating material. |
