A scaffold frame intended as a vertical part for scaffolding is disclosed. This scaffold frame has vertical posts which consist of aluminium hollow sections and are connected to one another at the upper and lower ends via horizontal crossbeams. At least the lower crossbeam is composed of steel, in contrast to the other parts of the scaffold frame, and is connected to the posts via an insertion connection, since it possesses, at both ends, short tubular pieces made of steel, into which the posts of the scaffold frame itself or in each case a tube, fitted into the lower end of the posts and of smaller diameter, are inserted. The connection between the crossbeams composed of steel and the posts of the scaffold frame is fixed by mechanical deformation of the parts fitted into one another, for example by pushing in hollows. As a result of the proposed combination of parts made of aluminium and steel, a relatively light but, particularly at the critical points, very strong scaffold frame is created.
