Dynamic supporting belt, especially for the treatment of arthrosis of the lumbar region of the vertebral column.

The band supports the vertebral column of a patient suffering from arthrosis of the lumbar region. It includes a triangular inflatable pad (2) which is mounted on a fabric strap (3) which passes around the torso of the patient. The pad is pref. 20 cm. high and has an inflation valve (21) at the apex which points downward. When the pad is inflated it applies an adjustable compression force to the vertebrae to be treated. The height of the pad is the same as that of the strap to ensure that all the compression force is applied in a forward direction i.e. against the vertebral column.
