<p>PURPOSE:To run a magnetic tape stably by a simple structure, by providing an auxiliary negative pressure chamber between a magnetic head and a feed side negative pressure chamber, and using a slip guide whose radius of curvature is >=10mm., as a guide of a tape bending part of its inlet and outlet parts. CONSTITUTION:The constitution of a basic part except at auxiliary negative pressure chamber 43 provided between a magnetic head and a feed side negative pressure chamber 41 is the same as conventional constitution. Guides of the inlet and outlet parts of the auxiliary negative pressure chamber 43 are slip guides 152, 153 made of ceramics instead of an air bearing. By negative pressure supplied from a negative pressure supply port 43a, a magnetic tape 3 is drawn into the auxiliary negative pressure chamber 43, and is pressed against the slip guides 152, 153 with a winding angle of scores of a degrees. As for the radius of curvature of the slip guide, it is most suitable to set it to >=10mm. in consideration of a running frictional characteristic of a magnetic tape and a floating characteristic of the tape in case of running.</p> |
